A Grab Bag of Broadswords.
For something a little different, one of our players from the Postcount forums, Card, sent some questions to us wanting a spotlight behind the scenes at Broadsword, and the people behind the name :) So here's a special "Card Bag" for you, and our regular Grab Bag will return next time.
Our 5v5 event kicks off tomorrow at 1PM EST/6PM GMT/7PM CET! With 21 teams registered it's looking to be another 5v5 event jam packed with excitement! Tune in live on our official DAoC Twitch channel, and maybe even win some prizes :)

Registration for this year's 5v5 Tournament is now closed! The excitement is immense :)
We would ask those participating to please arrive on time and be ready to go (make your guilds beforehand!) around the porter's area in Camelot at 1PM EST (6PM GMT/7PM CET).
In addition to the awesome fights we have to look forward to, we will also be giving away some spot prizes during the event! Shileah will be running contests for patterns and 1 month DAoC Timecodes for those joining the fun in Twitch chat, and our very chatty commentators will be awarding patterns to players for the following categories:

Best Dressed through the use of patterns (free Mithril is available on all characters on Pendragon)
-
Tournament MVP
-
MVP outside of the top 3 teams (finalists, semi-finalists, and 3rd placed teams)
-
Groups Stage MVP (per group category, not team)
-
Most Memorable Play
Please note: Pendragon is down tomorrow for a patch (details here), but will be set as FFA ruleset when it returns, please wait until Pendragon is back online to copy over any toons from live. So get ready to make your guilds, copy your toons, and work your fashion magic for Saturday! #5v5hype

Pendragon is open for testing! Its server ruleset has been changed to FFA/PVP.
The Pendragon test server will be coming down tomorrow, August 24th, at 2:00 PM EST / 7:00 PM GMT to deliver patch 1.123C to Pendragon!

Important Note:

We highly suggest separating out your normal game directory from your Pendragon game directory *before* patching and testing on Pendragon.
-
If you do not do this, you *will* experience issues when patching back to live.
-
To force the live client to fix these issues, you will need to delete the mft.myp in your game's directory and run the patcher again.

The downloadable Item Database has received the following updates and corrections:

The database now includes items up to version 1.123B.

Fixed an issue where jewelry items were missing slot information.

Fixed an issue where some items had incorrect monster source information.
-
Fixed an issue preventing One-Time-Drop and certain store-based items from being included in the database.
-
All metadata has been cleaned up and now correctly categorizes item bonus types and their ids.
-
The metadata has been removed from the database file and is now available as a separate file download.

Registration for this years 5v5 tournament on August 26th, 2017, is now open! Captains get your teams ready and register by Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017 at 5PM EST / 10PM GMT on our Challonge Tournament page. The tournament will be streamed live on our official Twitch channel - follow it now for notifications.
Details on our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes are now also available, with every participant also receiving a Triumphant Wrap! Head on over to our updated 5v5 Tournament page for all the details, rules, requirements, prize info, and more.
