The Leirvik Weekend Event has concluded. The teleporters have retired and the battleground access has been returned to its normal restrictions, giving the soil time to recover from the bloodshed and the trampling hordes that rushed over it all weekend long.

As things are, King Lug hasn’t got his spear back, but his realm also lost Dagda’s Cauldron. Once again, we saw a war torn weekend full off merciless battles all over the frontiers.

When the Battle Herald entered the Frontiers on Sunday afternoon Albion had managed to establish a beachhead in Dun Crimthain. Hibernia’s North was echoing with battle cries and the sounds of clashing steel while armies of Albion invaders pressed eastward to Dun Crauchon with West Crauchon bridge, Crauchon Spire and Crimthain Outpost as the focal point of the slaughter.

Although Midgard first used the opportunity to capture some of Hibernia keeps and towers, they soon switched to invade Albion which gave Hibernia the chance to free their country when the fighters of Albion rushed back to defend their homeland.

Later in the evening after successfully re-conquering their lands, Albion troops lead by Rescu and Billings tried a surprise attack on Dun Ailinne, where Merlin’s staff is still kept. While the  advancing forces were able to lock down both postern doors, the attack against the main gate was finally thwarted by the defenders already present in the keep when they were joined by Hibernian reinforcements lead by Shamashar.

The day ended with an invasion of Midgard frontiers and a successful attack on Fensalir Faste, where Midgard kept Lug’s Spear. Now the spear is stored away in Caer Renaris, and Hibernia already has a beachhead at Caer Erasleigh, as does Midgard at Caer Berkstead.

Is this where you’ll head now?

Last week saw a very special anniversary: One of our oldest players celebrated his 80th birthday. Happy birthday, Gerd! We /salute you for your continued enthusiasm and wish you all the best for the years to come.

But the battles didn’t pause. Probably because of the relic situation – Midgard owns its relics and the ones of Hibernia, while Hibernia keeps controls the ones from Albion – Sunday evening saw a full scale invasion of Midgard’s frontiers. Hibernia’s forces established a foothold in Bledmeer Faste and were soon joined by a big Albion attack on Blendrake Faste. The Battle Herald was on site and you can find some impressions in the Facebook Album.

Update 1:15 pm EDT: Glamorgan is back online as an archived server.
Update 10:00 am EDT: Glamorgan is now offline for maintenance.

    Greetings!

In an effort to finalize transfers from Glamorgan to Ywain we will be shutting down all zones on that server except for the following:

    • Classic Terrain/Dungeons
    • Housing
    • Capital Cities

Characters logged off in disabled zones will either return to their last legitimate bind location in a still functioning zone or, if the bind location is in a disabled zone, to their primary Border Keep within the Classic zones (Castle Sauvage, Svasud Faste and Druim Ligen).

We will be bringing Glamorgan offline tomorrow, Thursday 08/04, at 10:00 AM EDT in order to implement these changes. At this time we anticipate that the server will be back online no later than 3:00 PM EDT.

Thank you for your continued support and we’ll see you on the battlefield!

The warhorn of Midgard could be heard all throughout Hadrian’s Wall early Sunday evening as a host lead by Vigdisdk cut a swath through Albion territory. The raiding party sacked towers at Caer Boldiam, Cear Berkstead, and Caer Benowyc with only mild resistance from the outnumbered Albion defenders. Pausing near Berkstead to prepare for another assault saw the forces of Midgard ambushed by a group Bainshees that had tracked them along the Suspiro River. After a quick and lethal attack the Bainshees and their Hibernian supporters retreated south across Hadrian’s Wall, but the remaining forces of Midgard, hungry for revenge, ran them down as they fled.

Although Midgard crushed their assailants, the Hibernian attack had broke the host into two groups and slowed their momentum. Albion, not keen to let their prized Hibernian Relic fall into the hands of Midgard, deftly used their enemy’s moment of disorganization to fortify Caer Renaris. After being Harried and delayed by Hibernian attacks and scattered Albionians desperate to regain their lost towers, the Midgardian warband reached the keep. By this time however, Caer Renaris’ defenses proved too great and Albion successfully defended their Hibernian prize.
