    5v5 Tournament Fixture Announcement

    Created by

    |

Registration for the 5v5 Tournament is now closed and the fixture list available here on the tournament site! If you have a team but it does not appear on the fixture list, please contact Obelisk asap via IRC or Postcount.

We would ask those participating to please arrive on time and ready to go around the porter in Camelot at 1PM EST (7PM CET).

Due to the amount of teams registered, we’ve decided to go with four groups of 3 teams. With this tournament layout, the top two teams of each group will advance to the knockout stage. The teams in the last place of each group will be eliminated. A team that comes in 1st place in their group will play a team that came in 2nd place in another group in the first round of the knockout stage. Due to the fact we have 11 teams, one group will only have two teams. In this case, both teams will advance. The group stage for them will determine who comes 1st and 2nd in the group.

Full details of the groups and fixtures can be found on the postcount forums here. The tournament will be streamed in full on our official Twitch channel!

    Radar Suspensions

    Created by

    |

We have recently instituted several methods to help us track down various hacks in-game, perhaps the most important of which is radar. We have not and will not ever take cheating lightly. Your feedback over the months about hacking has been well-received and this announcement can be considered proof that these types of actions will not be tolerated.

Today we have issued 1-day suspensions to several hundred accounts found to be using radar. Going forward, any accounts confirmed as violating the Rules of Conduct in this way will be subject to long-term suspension and permanent account termination. All accounts actioned today have been sent an email to the address on file.

If you receive this email, and you do not use these programs, check the name of the suspended account carefully before you panic. If you sold or traded your account to another player, it’s possible that they didn’t change the contact email information.

If you did not receive this email, but your account has been suspended, you should update the email address on the account ASAP.

If it’s your account, and you received the email, please uninstall your third party programs immediately.

    Servers Up + Notes

    Created by

    |

Update 1:10 PM EST: The Live servers and Pendragon have all returned from the downtime this morning. Thank you very much for your patience!

Please read the following notes below carefully:

    • The Midsummer’s Event has now come to an end and the Traveling Merchants have packed up their wares and ventured out of the realms for a time.

    Guild Creation

Guilds are a core component of Dark Age of Camelot and we want to keep them that way. Unfortunately, as the game has matured, many players have begun using guilds to store their alternative or low level characters rather than as a community-enhancing feature. The following changes are designed to help alleviate the influx of the number of new guilds created. However, we also have plans to help make existing, active guilds a more attractive destination for players (over choosing to create a new guild) in the future.

    • Guild Creation has been re-enabled with the following new restrictions:

      • Trial Accounts can no longer be used to help form a guild.
      • Guilds now cost 10 platinum to form.
      • A character that has formed a guild as the group leader (at the time of guild formation) will no longer be able to then form another guild as the group leader. This is not a retroactive change, so all existing characters that have been the group leader at the time of a guild formation can form one new guild before being affected by this change.

    Changes

    • King Uther, Queen Cliodna, and Ymir’s encounters in Lyonesse, Bog of Cullen, and Vanern Swamp have had their difficulties slightly reduced again.
    • The quest, Energetic Collections, now allows succubi to be killed anywhere they are found in the game.
    • (Pendragon Only) The Pendragon server’s ruleset has been changed to PvP or Free-for-All. NPCs assisting with the 5v5 Tournament will be outside the Throne Room in each capital city in the coming days.
    • Labyrinth Obelisks no longer require characters to ‘activate’ them before their use. All characters can teleport to all obelisks in the Labyrinth.
    • 900 additional quests have been added to the Quest Journalist NPC in the capital cities.
      • Level 50 characters can click the keyword [higher] to remove completed quests from your journal.
      • If you are having issues completing or accepting quests, and your pending quest journal has less than 20 quests in it, please visit these Quest Journalists!

    Bug Fixes

    • All armor and weapons dropped in the Koalinth Caverns and Vendo Caverns dungeons should drop at the proper quality value now.
    • The Ten Hands Jewel is now trade-able.
    • Relics can no longer be carried into the safety of the Border Keeps. Instead, the relic will drop to the ground if a relic-carrier gets too close.
    • Relic carriers can no longer board galleons.
    • The Earth Horse quest in Albion can once again be obtained.
