    Otherworlds Campaign: Chapter 8

    Chapter 8 of the Otherworlds Campaign has arrived! Earn the new Otherworldly Necklace!

    • After completing Chapter 7, visit the following NPCs to continue on to Chapter 8:

      • Albion: Lieutenant Haley in the Otherworlds’ Camelot Hills, Chapter 7 area
      • Midgard: Arin Snowtouch in the Otherworlds’ Mularn , Chapter 7 area
      • Hibernia: Nara Manastrong in the Otherworlds’ Lough Derg, Chapter 7 area
    • Find the scout!

      • The Otherworlds’ armies have escaped for now. Uncover an enemy scout so your realm can track down their main force and destroy it once and for all!
      • Earn the new Otherworldly Necklace!
      • Gather more Otherworldly Ore!
     

    For those that are not yet ready to start Chapter 8, follow these steps to catch up:
    • To begin the Prologue visit the following NPCs once you’ve reached level 50:

    Sinister Moon Rising

    October is not just our favorite month because of the Anniversary, it’s also Halloween! And that means haunted cities, candy and costumes, pumpkin patches in the Frontiers, and this year… a brand new, creepier-looking moon!

    Festivities begin today, October 19th and will conclude Monday, November 2nd.


    • The Ghostly Harvest Quest offers players level 45 and up a dangerous adventure in the frontiers. Speak with John Tobin on the Cotswold Bridge, Foa Muldisson outside the Jordheim North Gates, or Nera by the road in Mag Mell to begin the quest. (Note: Players who completed this quest last year will now be offered it again.)
    • Jack, the grim reaper, has been spotted near the Agramon, Emain Macha, Hadrian’s Wall, and Odin’s Gate pumpkin patches. He’s been heard muttering about the Otherworlds by passerby.

      • Jack’s difficulty has been slightly increased and he now has a chance to drop the new Energy and Body Legendary Weapon specialty ingredients (Orb of Entropy and Pound of Flesh).
      • Jack can only spawn at one of the four possible pumpkin patches at a given time.
    • Treat sellers have been spotted selling sugary confections inside Meath, Erikstaad, and Caerwent.
    • The consignment merchants would like to show you their Halloween spirit! Pick up the merchant and place it back down on your house porch and he will change into a Halloween outfit for you!
    • Be aware adventurers! Ghosts haunt the streets of your capital cities as the pumpkin moon rises! Ghosts have also been spotted in Mag Mell, Aegirhamn, and Campacorentin Station.
    • The horses you once rode have joined the spirit realm. (This affects stable and merchant horses only – not player controlled horses.)
    • Something strange has happened to all of the puppies.
    • The pumpkins have been carved into jack o’ lanterns!
    • A trio of crazy old women have been spotted selling costume potions inside Camelot, Jordheim, and Tir na Nog.

      • The costume potions last 15 minutes each and come in a variety of flavors.
      • The costume potions work best if you remove your helm and armor.
      • You cannot digest another costume potion if you are transformed into any of the monster forms.
      • The costume potions’ magics are short-lived and the potions will be useless after the festivities end so don’t horde them.
      • Some of the costume potions allow you to take the form of the enemy, so don’t be scared if you see some in your capital city or housing zones, it’s just your realm mates playing dress up!
      • The costumes and potions only work while you are in the capital cities or housing zones. You cannot use them outside of these zones and if you leave the zone while in costume, you will lose the effect.
      • As always, the days before, during, and after Halloween these potions can be used in RvR (With Exception to Pixies, and ghosts potions, which are not usable in the frontiers ever)

    Developer’s Note: Please remember to run the patcher in order to see the pumpkin loot bags and sinister moon.

    This time of year is full of candy-induced excitement and frightful practical jokes, and almost nothing is more exciting (or scary) than the traveling merchants and their prices! Stock up and get your items before these weary travelers vanish once more!

    Several popular items have also made their return, including Darkness Falls Weapons and the Midwinter Frozen Medal of Honor.


    Players can find the merchants at the below locations. Happy Shopping!

    In Albion: Just outside of gates of Castle Sauvage in Camelot Hills
    In Midgard: Just outside of Svasud Faste in the Vale of Mularn
    In Hibernia: Just outside of Druim Ligen in Connacht

    The merchants will remain through the 28th of October.

    14th Anniversary Celebration and Hot Fix Notes

    Dark Age of Camelot turns 14 tomorrow and like most  teenagers, it wants to party!

    The following bonuses can be considered a start to the festivities. There’s more to come!

     

    On Ywain:
    50% bonus to RP gain in all NF zones (including The Labyrinth)
    100% bonus to RP gain in Darkness Falls
    100% bonus to normal XP gain in all classic zones and dungeons.
    200% bonus to normal XP gain in Darkness Falls.
    100% bonus to normal BP in all NF zones.

    On Gaheris:
    100% bonus to normal XP gain in all classic zones and dungeons.
    200% bonus to normal XP gain in Darkness Falls.
    100% bonus to normal BP gain in the capital cities.
    100% bonus to normal RP gain in the capital cities.

    In each Capital City:
    40% Bonus to Crafting Speed
    20% Bonus to Crafting Skill Gain

    In all Housing Zones:
    20% Bonus to Crafting Speed
    10% Bonus to Crafting Skill Gain

    The bonuses will be live from Friday, October 9th until Saturday, October 31st.

    Notes

    In addition to the bonuses, we also have some quick Hot Fix notes for you (some of these were fixed earlier in the week):

    • All Otherworlds Campaign Chapter quests can now be completed on the Gaheris server, across all 3 realms’ versions.
    • The difficulty of the Chapter 7 mobs surrounding the generals have been reduced slightly.
    • The Entropic and Somatic Longbows now require the correct ingredients to be crafted.
    • Low level woodworking recipes can once again be crafted.
    • The Otherworldly Essence potions now display the correct ingredients on the Alchemy tradeskill window in Hibernia.

    Chapter 7 of the Otherworlds Campaign has arrived and with it the final zone of the campaign!  Explore the Otherworlds of Camelot Hills, Vale of Mularn, and Lough Derg. Gather the Otherworldly Ore there and discover the power of the new Entropic and Somatic Legendary Weapons!

    • After completing Chapter 6, visit the following NPCs to continue on to Chapter 7:

      • Albion: Master Sandy in the Otherworlds’ Black Mountains South, Chapter 6 area
      • Midgard: Master Cindy in the Otherworlds’ Gotar, Chapter 6 area
      • Hibernia: Master Mindy in the Otherworlds’ Silvermine Mountains, Chapter 6 area
    • Decimate their forces!

      • The realms have found a large force near the Otherworlds’ Prydwen Bridge, the Southern Mularn Guard Tower, and in Tir na mBeo.
      • Decimate the armies and defeat their general!
      • Gather the Otherworldly Ore in order to be able to craft the new Legendary Weapons!

        • Players will need to complete the quest ‘Hoarder? No, I’m a collector’ in order to be able to gather the ore. The quest, ‘Smith Summons’ in the Chapter 7 area will direct players to this quest.

    Legendary Weapons


     
    • All Legendary Weapons now require 20 pieces of a new ingredient to be made: Otherworldly Ore

      • Otherworldly Ore can be gathered in the Chapter 6 areas and beyond of the Otherworlds starting with Chapter 7.

        • When gathering ore, players will have a chance to get 1, 2, 3, or 4 ores at once.
    • Craft-able Entropic (Energy) and Somatic (Body) Legendary Weapons are now available at 1099 Weaponcrafting and Fletching!

      • Entropic Legendary Weapons will require a new ingredient, Orb of Entropy, in order to be created.
      • Somatic Legendary Weapons will require a new ingredient, Pound of Flesh, in order to be created.
      • The Orb of Entropy and Pound of Flesh will have a chance to drop off select Otherworlds Campaign boss encounters: chapters 3, 5, 6, and 7
      • All other Legendary Weapons will remain at 1080 weaponcrafting or fletching skill.
    • All newly crafted Legendary Weapons will have their default stats updated as follows:

      • Old:

        • 3 spellcraft-able slots
        • 10 Armor Factor or 50 All Focus
        • 3% Melee or Spell Damage
      • New:

        • 4 spellcraft-able slots
        • 10 Armor Factor or 50 All Focus (All Focus is only available on caster staffs)
        • 3% Melee or Spell Damage (Spell damage is only available on caster staffs and bows)
        • 3% Style Damage or Cast Speed (Cast speed is only available on caster staffs and bows)
      • Players will be able to determine if an un-spellcrafted Legendary Weapon is a new or old version by looking for the +3% style damage or cast speed.
      • These changes are *not* retroactive. Meaning that Legendary Weapons crafted prior to this Hot Fix, whether they have been spellcrafted or not, will not have 4 spellcraft-able slots or the extra 3% style damage or cast speed.
      • With this update, players are no longer able to craft the old versions of Legendary Weapons with only 3 spellcraft-able slots.
    • All Legendary Weapons now have newly created VFX effects.

      • This includes the now-old weapons that only have 3 spellcraft-able slots.
    • With the introduction of the new Energy and Body damage Legendary Weapons, the armor resist tables for Energy and Body have been adjusted as follows (the Armor Resist Tables page has this info too!):

      • Old Energy Resist Table

        • Cloth, Leather – Neutral
        • Studded, Reinforced, Scale, Chain, Plate – Vulnerable

    Live Server Downtime – Amazon Maintenance

    Update: All servers are back online!

    Live servers and Pendragon will be coming down tomorrow at 5:45 AM EST / 10:45 AM GMT for maintenance.

    We’ll also be putting up a few fixes for the Legendary Weapons on Pendragon:

    • (Pendragon Only) Legendary Weapon effects should no longer become blocky when players wield them in combat and then move, remove, or swap another item in their inventory.
    • (Pendragon Only) Astral Weapons will no longer have effects attached to them.
    • (Pendragon Only) Albion’s Entropic and Somatic Legendary Longbows will now appear in the Fletching tradeskill window.

    Servers are expected back up by Noon EST / 5 PM GMT.

    Pendragon Hot Fix: Legendary Weapons Update

    The following notes are now available for testing on the Pendragon server!

    Legendary Weapons

     

    • All Legendary Weapons now require 20 pieces of a new ingredient to be made: Otherworldly Ore

      • Otherworldly Ore can be gathered in the Chapter 6 areas and beyond of the Otherworlds starting with Chapter 7.

        • Please note that you will have to run the patcher in order to see the Otherworldly Ore in-game.
      • Players that have completed the Picking a Fight quest during the Prologue can now port to Lyonesse, Vanern Swamp, and the Bog of Cullen at channelers throughout the world!
