    We had a lot of fun on the Devcast going over our plans for patch 1.121, 1.122, and beyond as well as throwing out several off-the-wall ideas for some of the classes to get your feedback on!

    So much so, that we’ll be doing a follow-up podcast at a soon-to-be announced time that will have taken into account your feedback and will announce our more finalized ideas for the classes!

    Following on from our numerous and valuable Knight class focus podcasts with Knights and player volunteers, it’s time to hear the thoughts and ideas on class balancing straight from the devs!

    DAoC Producer John Thornhill will be joined by Knight Boxy on Thursday, May 19th at 3PM EST/8PM GMT/9PM CET on our official Twitch channel to discuss the previous feedback from podcasts, and a look a head to what we may see with the coming class balance patch.

    A video and transcript of the Q&A will be available on the Herald in the days following the stream (in English, German, and French).

    Memorial Day Bonuses and Traveling Merchants Event

    Memorial Day Weekend is just around the corner and to celebrate we’re bringing the traveling merchants back and introducing the following zone bonuses for the next two weeks!

    The event will run from today, May 16th through Tuesday, May 31st.


    Notes
     
    • The traveling merchants have returned to their usual spots and are offerring their excellent selection of wares to any and all! They’ve even discounted their Darkness Falls weapons!

      • Albion: Outside Castle Sauvage
      • Midgard: Outside Svasud Faste
      • Hibernia: Outside Druim LIgen
    Bonuses
     

    On Ywain:

    • 50% bonus to RP gain in all NF zones (including the Labyrinth)
    • 50% bonus to RP gain in all battlegrounds
    • 100% bonus to normal XP gain in all classic zones and dungeons
    • 50% bonus to normal BP in all NF zones
    • 50% bonus to normal BP in all battlegrounds

    On Gaheris:

    • 100% bonus to normal XP gain in all classic zones and dungeons
    • 50% bonus to normal BP gain in the capital cities
    • 50% bonus to normal RP gain in the capital cities

    In each Capital City:

    • 40% Bonus to Crafting Speed
    • 20% Bonus to Crafting Skill Gain

    In all Housing Zones:

    • 20% Bonus to Crafting Speed

    Friday Hot Fix and Bonuses Announcement

    We have a quick but important Hot Fix involving keep lords sometimes being able to be killed outside their lord room!

    Notes

    • Keep Lords should no longer be able to leave their lord room.

    In other news, Memorial Day RvR bonuses will start next Monday, May 16th and last through Tuesday, May 31st. Stay tuned for more details Monday!

    Weekend Battleground Event: Caledonia

    The Caledonia battleground is open to all players starting today, Thursday April 21st through Monday April 25th!

    Conquer the enemy realms and capture Caer Caledon back from the Picts to earn the Pictslayer loot!

    The Caledonia battleground has the following zone bonuses:

    • 25% bonus to realm point gain
    • 50% bonus to bounty point gain
    • 100% bonus to experience gain

    To get to Caledonia, simply visit the Battleground Event Channelers as follows:

    Albion: Master Truji in Castle Sauvage
    Midgard: Stor Gothi Acheren in Svasud Faste
    Hibernia: Channeler Inarea in Drium Ligen

    Save the Date – 5v5 Tournament 2016

    After a very successful and enjoyable tournament last year, we are pleased to announce the second Knights of the Roundtable ran DAoC 5v5 tournament! Gather your friends and team mates and prepare to face off against your friends, and enemies, in this spectacular event!

    The 5v5 tournament will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 on the Pendragon server at 1 PM EST (12PM CST, 10AM PST, 7PM CET). Depending on how many teams sign up, the tournament may continue on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 1 PM EST (12PM CST, 10AM PST, 7PM CET). Bookmark the tournament page below to keep updated on all the details!




    Registration will be opening later in the year, so keep your eyes on the Herald!

    Our DAoC Knight Podcast this week will focus on the overall RvR game and playstyles! Joining our host, Knight Luvly, will be a collaboration of players including Xyorman, Rescu, Nightsmauler, and Billings to discuss RvR and balance across the realms.

    Gaheris Server Downtime for Guild Maintenance

    Update 9 AM EDT / 2 PM GMT: Gaheris is now online and guild creation is enabled once again. Guild leaders on Gaheris should verify that their guild data and stats are correct after logging in.

    The Gaheris server will be coming down tomorrow at 7 AM EDT / NOON GMT for maintenance to fix an issue with guilds. Guild creation is currently disabled on Gaheris and will be restored when the server returns tomorrow.

    The Gaheris server is expected back up by 11 AM EDT / 4 PM GMT.

    The Rites of Spring Event

    Springtime is here again, and with the warmth and renewed bloom of the landscape an ancient menace returns!

    The deceptively cuddly Harbinger of Spring has found its way onto Ellan Vannin. The Kings of the Realms have placed a bounty on this beast for any who wish to drive the menace out of their lands and to collect the coveted Gem of the Harbinger!

    The Rites of Spring event will continue through Monday, April 4th.
     
    Visit the following to receive the Rites of Spring quest:

    Sir Yvain in Castle Sauvage or in the Frontiers
    Sinfjotli Sigmundarson in Svasud Faste or in the Frontiers
    Fionn mac Cumhaill in Druim LIgen or in the Frontiers

    Remember, the quest is battlegroup credit and also automatically given upon defeating the Harbinger of Spring so don’t worry if you forgot to grab it!

    Note: All characters will be able to obtain the Gem of the Harbinger and Bracelet of Springtime Folly, even if they got one last year! 

    Battleground players, don’t forget to speak with Lady Mirabelle in Castle Sauvage, Svasud Faste, or Druim Ligen in order to obtain the Egg Hunt quests!

    Additionally, this year marks the return of the Spring Egg Trophy quest. Simply complete any of the Egg Hunt battleground quests or the Rites of Spring quest to be eligible for and offered it.

    The Garden Nest and Flower Box trophies will spruce up any home’s garden!
