Player Questions & Developer Answers

Yar mateys! It's time for the Grab Bag:

Just for the sake of my own twisted curiosity, how many times has Librarian Pelan sneezed since live release?

The Lady of the Jewels chuckled and did some calculating for you: Ah, poor Librarian Pelan and his allergies. You'd think he would have moved to a location with less dusty books by now. His chance to sneeze is random and he can only sneeze once every minute, so I cannot say exactly how many times he has sneezed in the past 7 years. I can say that if he did indeed sneeze once a minute for the past 7 years, he would have sneezed 3,679,200 times. Someone should bring that man a tissue.

Can you clarify the 1.96a Blocking rate change? Is that for all PvE/PvP or just for PvP and does it affect Engage?

Fully prepared for this question, the Equalizer explains: PvE and RvR block rates have two separate caps. The change mentioned in the 1.96a Pendragon Patch Notes only affects the RvR block cap. The PvE block cap has not been altered.

This change does not affect Engage - Engage will still function exactly as it did prior to the cap being lowered.

Where oh where have the missing horses gone? The horse from Avalon Marsh to Western Cornwall has ridden off into the sunset. Please bring back our Western Cornwall horsie back... we miss it!

The Lady of the Jewels has some good news for you concerning the horsie: I'm happy to say that due to popular demand this route was added back in with the 1.96a Pendragon patch yesterday. Please note that the tickets to Western Cornwall are now called tickets to Yarley's Farm to better describe where they take you.

I have spotted a strange mob in the Albion frontier that looked out of place. It was a Taur Scout. I discovered this mob in the ruins that surround Caer Boldiam Outpost (tower 3). I was playing my Scout at the time and when I found this mob it was aggressive. It looked suspicious so I fired my bow into him only to find that he teleported out of the area before I could finish him off. Would this mob happen to be connected to the doppelgangers?

Shaking her head back and forth the Lady of the Jewels says no: These monsters are actually part of the storyline of the Labyrinth of the Minotaur expansion. When attacked, they will disappear soon after mumbling things about how they are studying their attacker's technique. They never actually stick around to finish the fight if they survive the first attack.

Hello, I would like to know if the speed of the bow makes the shots faster or is it all regulated by the cast time of each shot?

Quicker then a Dev has ever responded the Equalizer states: After the Archery Changes in 1.88, the speed of Archer abilities no longer is based off of the speed of the bow, but off of the different casting times of the spells. As such, bow speed no longer has any effect on archery damage.

When I am on my 15 plat horse and a fellow Midgardian is on their 1 plat horse they are moving the same speed as me, even though you guys state that the 15 plat horse has a higher movement rate. What gives?

The Equalizer looked into this and has this to say: As referenced in a previous grab bag, found here (http://www.camelotherald.com/news/news_article.php?storyid=3669), all Advanced and Epic mounts provide the same speed buff to the player. The only mount that does not provide this same speed buff is the Standard Chestnut Horse, which is available for free through a level 10 quest in either the Tutorial or the Capital City for each realm.

I have been working several templates crafting different types of armor being Sigil or Dragonsworn. I noticed before crafting the armor, there is no information given to show what the bonus types are to the armor before I make it. Is there any plan of adding some kind of information so that I know what I am making before I actually attempt to craft the armor piece?

The Lady of the Jewels smiled when she heard this suggestion: This is definitely something we would like to add in a future patch, but in the meantime you can find a list of these items and what 5th slot bonuses they provide here: http://www.camelotherald.com/article.php?id=389

Are there any plans on making RvR mission worth more Realm Points, like assassin missions? Boost them up maybe 100-200 more RPs?

With a quick glance at a notepad the Lady of the Jewels says: We are in the process of reviewing RvR Mission rewards and discussing raising the amount of Realm Points granted by these missions. We are also planning to review the number of realm points granted for taking and defending keeps and towers.

I was just wondering if someone can take a look at the drop rate for the Cursed Crypt Bracer in the Realm of the Damned instance (Albion). I farm this item for many of my characters 50th level templates, and it takes about 30 minutes to get to the boss each time (with an ML9 pet & full buffs). Anyway, I get lots of boots, and caps, and even bows, but the bracer drops so seldom that it is almost painful. Anything you can do to help would be very much appreciated.

The Lady of the Jewels took a moment and says it is equal: This bracer drops from Wrmonoc in the Realm of the Damned. Wrmonoc has an equal chance to drop nine different items, so it is possible that he will not drop the bracer many times in a row.
