Player Questions & Developer Answers

Friday is a great time for a Grab Bag!

My house was repossessed because my account was closed for a couple of months, and I logged back in and got all my stuff, but I can't get the Merchant to take my 5 Plat coins. What am I doing wrong?

The Equalizer was quick to explain: These items are actually a coin that is set to be worth 5 Platinum Coins - merely sell this item to the merchant, and he will give you 5 platinum pieces for it.

Currently, many of the templates that I am trying to make include a large amount of bounty point items. My question is, are there any plans of putting in bounty point items again, such as the previous doppelganger parts, to make getting bounty point items less time consuming?

With that sparkle to her eyes the Lady of the Jewels says: We are planning to have more quests to help provide bounty points to players in the near future, including a new repeatable quest which was introduced yesterday with our new event.

With a sigh and a shrug I decided to finish some old quests in my journal. One of the quests is the Treasures and Talismans quest (Level 40). Well due to my senile nature and the length of time since I started the quest, I cant seem to locate the NPC Criminole to turn the treasures into, and I was hoping the omnipotent Lady of the Jewels could point me in the right direction.

With a rosy omnipotent blush to her cheeks the Lady of the Jewels found your answer: Criminole is located in the Shrine of Tegashirg on hub level one of the Labyrinth. Happy questing!

If I have characters who were crafters before the tradeskill revamp, is there a way to open up the additional tradeskills that they were previously unable to use(i.e, to allow a Spellcrafter to become a Tailor)? Also, if I have a character who is a Legendary Spellcrafter, what happens if he joins the order of Alchemists?

As crafty as ever the Lady of the Jewels replies: You should just be able to open up the tradeskill recipe lists and start crafting things in any tradeskill to begin leveling them. Speaking to an Order Trainer such as the Order of Alchemists will allow you to do crafting quests in that profession but it is not required.

I was just wondering, since we are approaching it, what happens when you get to version 1.99 and need to update to a new version. I'm assuming you don't go to 2.0. Would you roll it over to 1.000 or 1.001? This is sheer curiosity and I understand if it doesn't make the cut of questions to be answered.

Always happy to plan ahead and talk numbers the Shining Cavalier says: The current plan is to go from 1.99 to 1.100.

Why can I not tell what bonus a specific Spellcrafting gem will give before making it? When you delve on a gem such as Rough Steaming Fervor, all you get is the list of ingredients to make it. Not what the gem will do if you do make it.

The Lady of the Jewels says: At the moment, crafting recipes are set up to only display very specific information, such as ingredients and item level. In a future patch we are looking at adding further delve information to recipes to help alleviate this frustration.

I'm certain I recently saw a note about crafting bonuses in the capital cities. Do those bonuses stack with the tradeskill quest items' bonuses? That is, if I get a 10%(?) bonus toward leveling for being in Camelot, do I also get an additional 8% for having my Well-Made Pestle equipped?

As quick of an answer as possible The Equalizer says, yes: The bonuses that were increased in 1.97a on Pendragon will stack with tradeskill quest items and guild merit bonuses.

I was wanting to know if there was any plan to allow the archer classes to equip two bows at a time. One in the 2 handed slot and one in the ranged.

The Equalizer pondered this a moment with a slightly evil grin appearing on his lips: While this is an intriguing idea, there are currently no plans to allow for archers to equip two bows at once.

My question is about the item Blackened Sash of the sword. Only info I can find on it is that its a Midgard item and the stats on it. Can you tell me who and where it drops?

With a quick typing motion the Equalizer found this out for you: This item is set to drop off of Leidolf, a named Drakulv in Malmohus. Happy hunting!

Last night, I was farming mobs in the Labyrinth on my Eldritch, so I really got to pay attention to my power regen rate as I didn't have anything else such as Field of Power or Mentalist/Bard power regen and I noticed something that challenged my existing knowledge on the way casting classes regain their power. I always assumed every tick was linear and that every tick yielded the same percentage of power every time - but this wasn't the case. I noticed that my power regenerated in the following way: 2%, 3%, 2%, 3% constantly. So what gives? I should also add in that I don't use any power regen RAs or mithirians.

The Equalizer took a good amount of time to make certain he had the right answer: It looks like you found one of the instances in which our UI rounds values that it displays to players. Your Power does appear to be regenerating at a constant rate, probably somewhere about 2.5% per tick - however, since the UI doesn't display decimal values for your power percentage, you saw 2%, 3%, 2%, 3% - this is a constant increase, and is caused by a quirk of our rounding system.
